Let those words sink in. Baked. Cheese. Tart. Ever since our pals on the Gold Coast wrote of the arrival of Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart (HBCT) at Pacific Fair in 2017 we’ve been eagerly waiting our own turn. Our prayers were answered when HBCT opened in the Myer Centre, and we were even more hyped when the chain announced another location in the heart of Westfield Garden City. If you’ve never seen of even heard of a baked cheese tart, strap on a bib because you’re about to drool. Imagine a crunchy shortcrust pastry contrasted by a fluffy, creamy filling, famous for its richness, moreish sweet/savoury taste and tantalising cheesy aroma. The tarts come in original cheese, blueberry and chocolate flavours. You’re not going to be able to stop at just one, that’s how good these babies are.
