Hobby Lane

Mitchelton’s thriving promenade of Blackwood Street scored a new-look cafe nook in the shape of Hobby Lane, after Delicatezza underwent significant refurbishment. Owner-chef Peter Shaw is using the opportunity to flex his culinary muscles with a new menu containing some old favourites and new hits. The cafe has proved to be an instant hit with locals thanks to its combination of sublime Toby’s Estate coffee and menu of breakfast and lunch bites. The likes of mushroom toasties, smoothie bowls, ricotta hotcakes, corn fritters and smoked salmon make for great day starters during the week, while the weekend breakfast menu shakes it up with cinnamon French toast, waffles and more. At lunchtime, patrons can devour poke bowls, prawn rolls, roast veggie sandwiches, bacon bagels and more. On the drinks front, sip on milkshakes, Lindt hot chocolate, tea, kombucha, and Butterbing iced coffees, topped with a moreish treat that will really have you swooning.
