Attention all flat white drinkers of Fig Tree Pocket – next month a new hole-in-the-wall coffee dispensary will be opening in your neck of the woods. Rekha and Jason Carlson, the brains behind popular Chapel Hill cafe Peach & Billy, will be opening Henry Pocket in early August, carving out a small dispensary space in the back half of Captain Convenience Store on Fig Tree Pocket Road. From here, they’ll be pouring cups of specialty brew from The Black Lab Coffee Co. alongside tea from Origin, Prana chai, Karma cola and smoothies. On the food front, Henry Pocket will keep its menu small and simple, slinging jaffles, crumpets and baked goods from Brasserie Bread. Rekha and Jason are currently renovating the Henry Pocket space, instilling a modern-yet-minimal aesthetic in the interior while also planning for a small amount of outside seating.
