Hello Gorgeous

After many months of inactivity, the old Chester Street Bakery site in Newstead was given a new lease on life. Opulent bar and eatery Hello Gorgeous opened doors its doors in February 2019, owned and operated by hospitality veteran Justinn DeBeer and his fiance Bea Berry, with a vision to create an awe-inspiring and welcoming venue built around positive vibes and fun times. As its name might suggest, Hello Gorgeous promises is a visual treat, featuring impressive high archways, titanium gold linear chandeliers and Spanish tiling set against a palette of dreamy pastels, peacock blues and brass touches. The seasonal cocktail list is as exotic as the fit-out, with several signature drinks and temperance-style cocktails concocted alongside tap cocktails, beer, more than 40 wines, ten sparkling drops and French champagne. Diners can find a snackable share-plate menu with a strong seafood focus from head chef Matthew Wrench (ex-Eleven Rooftop Bar), including the likes of Shark Bay razor-back prawns with candied chilli, barbecued Western Australian baby octopus, Milly Hill lamb cutlets and roasted bone marrow with sourdough crisps.
