Heisenberg Haus

Bringing together the best elements of both food cultures, the Fechner family will be opening Heisenberg Haus in the heart of Ipswich on December 18, adding a new dining destination as part of the Circa 160 precinct on Brisbane Street. The Fechner family has brought Austrian local Marcel Jaritz on as the head chef, who has worked in four and half star restaurants across Europe and Australia. The menu features traditional recipes from Austria and Germany, using the best produce from Queensland to create a delicious selection of meals. Menu standouts include the pork knuckle served with potato dumplings, beer gravy and special sauerkraut, chicken schnitzel with pan-fried potatoes and slow cooked pork belly served with red cabbage and creamy potato mash. A German-inspired bar wouldn’t be right without a solid range of beer – thankfully Heisenberg Haus hasn’t skimped on the drink selection. The Fechners have sourced German beer from many breweries in Munich, including Paulaner, Franziskaner, Spaten, Stiegl, Hacker Pschorr, Löwenbräu and Hofräu, A selection of eight beers will be available on tap in addition to a range of specialty cocktails, wines, schnapps and spirits.
