The burger and dessert concept has cultivated a loyal following thanks to its array of jaw-dropping morsels, and the team is set to build that fanbase with its new bricks-and-mortar spot in West End. The team has converted the old Grill’d space on Boundary Street into a laid-back hangout space, with seating spread across the interior, footpath and laneway. Must-try menu items include the Morning Wood (beef patty, cheese, bacon, pickles, onion rings, honey mayo and barbecue sauce), P–BJ (two patties, cheese, smoky bacon and a dollop crunchy peanut butter and jam) and the Lucky Chicken (slow-cooked pulled chicken, slaw, chilli mayo) are available on regular buns, waffles or crispy cheesy toast. Dessert devourers can savour waffles boasting a dusting of cinnamon sugar, a scoop of ice-cream, strawberries, and a collection of chocolatey confections, while thick shakes are sure to fill in any gaps. If that’s not enough for you, Hashtag’s sides include the likes of loaded fries, onion rings, mac ‘n’ cheese balls, cheesy toast and potato gems covered in maple bacon, cheese, shallots and pickle mayo. Thirsty? A set of beer taps pours brews from Big Shed Brewery (a sour, lager, IPA and pale ale) plus ciders, boozy ginger beer and some rotating drops.
