A new eatery sprouted up in West End in September 2017 going by the name of Grown. The brainchild of Sacha Muchall (who you may know from U&I Espresso), Grown focuses on plant-based dining for breakfast and lunch , accompanied by specialty coffee from some of Brisbane’s best roasters. Sacha’s aim is for the eatery to be as sustainable as possible, working with local suppliers and producers such as FoodConnect, Suncoast Fresh and Dramanti Artisan Roaster to craft the offering. The menu currently offers dishes such as creamy polenta with French lentils and fried shallots, pan-fried zucchini with caramelised celeriac puree and spicy veggie broth, house made hash browns and brioche French toast with seasonal berries and pepper ice-cream. Grown also has teamed up with Jane Street Community Garden to help reduce waste by turning it into compost. The coming weeks will see Grown add a dinner service to its offering, which will be paired with organic wine and beers.
