Grape and Grazing – Opening Soon
A former restaurant space in a leafy pocket of New Farm will soon be reborn as a new hybrid venue that’s part European-inspired eatery and wine bar and part gourmet providore. Grape and Grazing is the name of the concept, which is currently taking shape on Moray Street in the space previously home to Vine Restaurant Bar. The venue is the brainchild of Rowena Wilkinson, who will be applying her extensive experience working in the tourism, hospitality and catering sectors to create a multifaceted offering across dine-in and takeaway provisions. Joining Rowena in the venture is her son Oliver, a wine enthusiast who will be overseeing Grape and Grazing’s range of vino. During the day, Grape and Grazing will sell a broad selection of fine cheese, meats, ready-to-eat meals and pantry fillers with a bias towards Australian and Queensland-made products, but expect some quality imported goods to also feature on shelves. The shop is looking to be a go-to pit stop for picnickers, with pre-made hampers (boasting basket, rug, nibbles and wine) for solo snackers, couples and groups expected to be available alongside make-your-own cheese boards. When the sun sets, Grape and Grazing will transform into a casual wine bar serving share-style grazing cheese and charcuterie platters, as well as a short menu that will rotate often (think a pasta of the week or roast chicken). The wine list will feature a mix of domestic and international drops, with a selection of hard-to-find wines available by the glass under Coravin. Once open, Rowena and Oliver are eager to have long-table dinners with winemakers, chefs and producers in attendance. Clui Design and Lowry Group are spearheading Grape and Grazing’s design and build, with the team aiming for a European feel, with seating for approximately 50 guests spread between banquettes and umbrella-shaded tables. Grape and Grazing is targeting a mid-November opening – stay tuned for updates!
