Goodfolk Cafe
After the departure of Neighbourhood Coffee Roasters in September 2019, the storied Rainworth General Store building was in need of a new operator. Seasoned hospitality veterans Adam Murphy and Nick Turner gamely took on the venue, giving it some aesthetic tweaks and rebranding the venue as Goodfolk Cafe. Goodfolk’s core drivers, with Adam and Nick looking to establish the cafe as a space where locals can reliably enjoy a polished and well-priced experience any day of the week. Goodfolk Cafe’s menu utilises a mix of quality ingredients from trusted boutique suppliers and some grown in the venue’s on-site garden. The menu offers the likes of buckwheat, coconut and almond granola with coconut yoghurt and passionfruit, a chickpea, lime and coconut curry served with seasoned flatbread, roast cashews and poached egg, butter-fried sourdough French toast with house-made lemon curd and creme fraiche, and gooey bechamel-cheese-and-ham toasties. Goodfolk’s coffee is made using Neighbourhood’s beans, with shots measured and timed to ensure the same consistency at peak and off-peak periods. Rounding out the menu is a selection of tea from The Steepery Tea Co., homemade hot chocolate, chai and cold-pressed juices.
