Future Magic Brewing Co. is an East Brisbane-based craft-beer brewery and tap room with a strong community-centric focus. Housed inside a cavernous space with room for 150 seats inside and another 30 out (plus a forthcoming mezzanine level set to add a bunch of extra room for schooner sipping and functions), Future Magic has been funded by and built for the community. A crowdfunding campaign netted close to $300,000, which went towards setting up the brewery’s sizeable system –  a 10-hL three-vessel brewhouse from Brewtique, with fermenting capacity of 80-hl and three serving tanks that pipe brews straight to the taps. A core range of sips includes the Magic Stick session ale, the aromatic Galaxy Dust New England IPA, a hoppy German-style lager called Solar, the Meteorite Stout and Welcome To Paradise, a classic West Coast IPA. A rotating sour made with seasonal fruit will also always feature on tap, with wines from Witches Falls and locally made spirits also available for non-beer drinkers. In the corner of Future Magic’s spacious digs is a pizza oven, which pumps out piping-hot classics that pair wonderfully with a sudsy beverage.
