Flippin’ the Bird

The fried-chicken craze doesn’t seem to be dying down any time soon. Flippin’ The Bird is the latest entrant on Brisbane’s fried-chicken scene, a small takeaway joint on Ann Street in Fortitude Valley. With a focus on free-range chicken, paddock-to-plate freshness and waste mitigation, Flippin’ The Bird takes a comprehensive approach to using as much of the chicken as possible. After selecting their heat level, patrons can chow down on box meals filled with various pieces, fried-chicken burgers, specialty salads, chicken and waffles, spicy banh mi rolls, baller buckets or a whole fried chicken. Once you’ve made your decision, supplement your choice with jalapeno poppers, haloumi fries, beer-battered pickles, apple slaw, sweet potato wedges and spicy chargrilled cobs of corn. Delivery and takeaway is available, and a liquor license is in the works.
