e’cco bistro

e’cco bistro opened its doors in 1995 and has since become one of the icons of the Brisbane dining scene. Led by chef-owner Philip Johnson, this award-winning venue focuses on simple modern Australian dishes, which allow the quality of the ingredients to shine through. The restaurant is located in an old tea warehouse on the corner of Boundary and Adelaide Streets on the city’s fringe, dishing up divine menu items such as white fish with fennel, rocket, sumac, currants and burnt butter; and duck breast with slow-roasted carrots, dates and pearl barley. Those with a sweet tooth ought to treat themselves to one of e’cco’s famed desserts, such as the choc fudge brownie with peanut praline, cherry and Nutella gelato.
