Doo-Bop Jazz Bar
Jazz-loving cats and kittens were tapping their feet in excitement when the news of Doo-Bop Jazz Bar broke and for good reason. Since opening in June 2017, the live-music venue has set itself as a reliable nightlife destination for revellers and diners, spread over two storeys and dedicated to all things jazz. The ground level is open for early-morning coffee through to lunch and dinner, with its Art Deco space home to a grand piano, so diners can take in the smooth sounds of jazz over the likes of quail, gnocchi or slow-roasted pork belly and more. Downstairs in the subterranean basement you’ll find the live-jazz venue, inspired by one of the world’s oldest jazz clubs, Village Vanguard in New York City. A fully refurbished 1955 Steinway Model B grand piano imported from New York will grace the large stage, with the venue playing host to local, interstate and international jazz acts most (if not all) evenings.
