Dicki’s
If you’ve got a resolution to fulfil or you’ve picked up an interest in eating a plant-based diet, you’re going to go crazy over Dicki’s. Taking over the former site of Pablo in New Farm, Dicki’s openws in late February 2018, serving up vegan eats for breakfast and lunch seven days a week. The cafe comes from Zulueta siblings Lexi, Justine, Choy and Diana, and pays homage to the family’s first vegan, their father Dicki. The all-day menu features plant-based versions of cafe classics and favourites, promising nourishing dishes that will appeal to both vegans and meat eaters alike. Chef Jacob Hayward is plating up the likes of Dicki’s breakfast burrito with spiced rice, crumbed tofu and black beans, the buckwheat waffles with caramelised banana and vanilla bean ice-cream, the tofu scramble with garlic and thyme mushrooms, crispy tofu baos and the grilled corncakes with guacamole, pico de gallo and coriander pesto. The coffee comes from Bare Bones Specialty Coffee, creating a special Alt Blend that pairs perfectly with the milk alternatives available.
