The Kettle and Tin opens in Paddington

A flurry of all-day dining, The Kettle and Tin has opened in Paddington much to the delight of local breakfast go-ers and watering-hole aficionados. Brother to The Ponycat in New Farm, The Kettle and Tin is too run by the colourful Asa Boardman, known for his decorated cafe walls and dedication to a service environment.

Covering all food bases from morning to midnight, The Kettle and Tin serves breakfast and lunch each day, with the space taking on a rascally persona some evenings, with bloody marys galore and casual degustation of share plates and mains. Rehauling the space that was Pandemonium, the venue has been given a shiny new lease on life, with Asa’s hand-drawn artworks slowly making their way onto the walls and the beginnings of a herb garden out the back.

The Mulled Poached Pear with Fig Granola, Soaked Oats and Natural Yoghurt has caught our eye for the mornings, along with rather decadent the French Toasted Banana Bread with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, Caramel Sauce and Toasted Walnuts. And while the design and cuisine creations like Duck Gambo and Scallop Carpaccio indicate a level of sophistication, Asa ensures The Kettle and Tin maintains the casual flop in, flop out vibe of The Ponycat.
