Byblos

Channelling the bustling, cosmopolitan and international fare found on the Mediterranean coast of Lebanon, Byblos serves up exotic Middle Eastern flavours and tastes. As one of the crown jewels in the Portside Wharf dining precinct, Byblos is a hugely popular foodie destination that seduces with its aesthetic and mouth-watering array of dishes. The interior boasts a lavish, eccentric vibe complete with plush lounges, chandeliers and artefacts scattered about, spilling out to the pavement overlooking the Brisbane River. As for the fare, there’s no wrong choice. To start, try authentic Lebanese dips of hommus, baba ghanouj and labneh with freshly baked bread, before moving onto some more substantial morsels. The shareable mezat range boasts a host of oven-baked pastries and small plates (think pan-fried chicken wings with garlic butter, lightly grilled Cyprian haloumi, and tiger prawns marinated in a tasty butter chilli sauce. Larger plates such as the mixed grill, chargrill chicken, Lebanese fish and chips and the slow-cooked chicken moghrabieh will be sure to satiate any appetite. All the while, diners can sip on carefully crafted cocktails, wines and beer while enjoying the lively atmosphere and company of friends.
