Danny’s Bread
Daniel Mikus is an artisan baker and pastry chef who takes his dough seriously. After working as senior baker at Iggys Down Under in Sydney for the past four years, Danny decided to strike out on his own, setting up shop on Commercial Road in Teneriffe. Danny’s Bread is a small artisan sourdough bakery that sells the kind of bread that convinces you that carbs can’t be all bad. The store stocks a boutique selection of handcrafted loaves including big and small country varieties, white country sourdough, wholemeal multi-grain and light rye beer bread using beer sourced from Green Beacon Brewing. Shelves are stocked with condiments and jams, including vinegar from Alto, raw honey from Colony and salt flakes from the Murray River basin, which is used in every loaf. Brownies, brioche buns and granola made daily on site is also available, as is gourmet butter from Pepe Saya. Danny bakes a special item each day, so be sure to check in often to see what new loaf has been pulled out of the oven.
