Six years after opening on Creek Street, Italian-inspired spuntino and pasta joint COPPA picked up sticks and relocated to Eagle Street Pier. Opening at the site formerly home to modern-Italian restaurant Il Centro, COPPA 2.0 is bringing some coastal cool and laid-back charm to the riverside hub. The team has revamped the venue’s casual indoor and alfresco dining spaces, implementing a breezy aesthetic that emphasises the site’s stunning river views. Much of COPPA’s beloved menu has been brought across in the move, including its selection of snacks, salads, pasta, mains and small plates. Guests can curate a multi-stage feast from the likes of pumpkin arancini, veal-and-pork meatballs, scallop crudo, pork-and-beef ragu, gnocchi with kale, mushroom and walnut, roast porchetta, bistecca alla Fiorentina, and pesce del giorno (fish of the day). Alongside an established assortment of Italian and Italian-Australian wines, beers and cocktails, COPPA is also dispensing a collection of boozy slushies (including frozen negronis and frozen prosseco), as well as spritzes and an expanded selection of gins.
