Clancy’s Espresso
It’s scientifically proven that coffee tastes exponentially better when enjoyed in aesthetically pleasing surroundings. While we don’t have a link to any studies to back up our claim, we’re pretty confident that you agree with us anyway. Clancy’s Espresso in Norman Park put our hypothesis to the test when it opened on the corner of Balmoral and Hipwood Streets. The brainchild of Clancy Sonter-Kelso and Ollie Burscough (of Woodsters fame), Clancy’s Espresso is bringing good food and coffee to the suburb, paired with a homely, Scandinavian-influenced fit-out inside that is simple, cosy and filled with plants as well as an outdoor seating area. Ollie himself oversaw the build, with plenty of custom furniture, fixtures and fittings filling the space. Patrons are able to sample specialty coffee from Single O, as well as locally made pastries from Jocelyn’s Provisions and a menu of a dozen bagels to choose from. Snack on fried egg and bacon bagels, rueben bagels, bagels topped with smoked Tasmanian salmon, pork and fennel sausage, thin-cut steak and caramelised onion, grilled haloumi and more.
