From fledgling market venture to inner city grab-and-go outlet to a bricks-and-mortar institution, it’s been a long journey for cult-favourite burger joint Charboys Burgers. Charboys had been slinging a choice menu of juicy burgs from a bright-red shipping container on Edward Street, a spot that was always intended to be a temporary stop-gap before evolving once more. Inner-city burger lovers were crushed when Charboys was forced to relocate by the redevelopment of 288 Edward Street, but heartbreak was quickly transformed into elation when the Charboys team revealed it would be relocating to Bulimba and becoming a permanent fixture. Charboys Burgers’ owner Shravan Gautam had been on the hunt for a forever home since early 2018, passing up other offers in order to find the perfect spot. Charboys Burgers Bulimba sits on the bustling Oxford Street strip, where long-time fans can gorge on the joint’s popular menu of crispy golden fries, succulent cheeseburgers, fried-chicken burgers, lentil-patty burgers and more. Charboys has upped the ante by introducing milkshakes and beer to the offering, and there’s word that the menu might soon expand of include chicken wings and loaded chilli fries.
