C’est Bon and Le Bon Bar
C’est Bon is a little piece of France tucked away in Woolloongabba on Stanley Street. Alive with French culture and hospitality, C’est Bon’s long-running restaurant feels like a small restaurant in provincial France. In 2019, C’est Bon’s previous owners overhauled the space, adding an all-day eatery and bar, Le Bon Bar alongside a new cellar dining space, garden terrasse and rooftop bar. The restaurant itself was also overhauled, with chic new furnishings breathing new life into the culinary icon. In 2021, new owner and executive chef Andy Ashby completed the new works, unveiling new bar addition Ooh La La on the building’s rooftop. When it comes to the fare, guests can soak up the vibes with drool-worthy morning starters like French pastries (naturally) alongside a cup of Roast By Yili coffee. Come evening, Le Bon Bar shifts to serve up share plates, charcuterie and fromage. Ooh La La’s menu traverses a multitude of French delights, including duck-liver parfait, confit suckling pig terrine and ‘nduja brown butter Queensland prawns. Oenophile’s will be pleased to know that C’est Bon is also giving some love to its wine list. Sommelier Charles-William Gossart has helped curate C’est Bon and Le Bon Bar’s array of bottles, encompassing France’s phenomenal wine regions (Bordeaux, Loire Valley, Alsace, Burgundy and Rhone) as well as local bottles from Barambah Winery. A full page is dedicated to wines by the glass, as well as bigger bottles, champagne, French regional reds, whites and dessert wines, respectively. Non-wine drinkers needn’t fret – beers, ciders, cocktails, spirits and digestifs also feature.
