The Caxton Hotel

Few venues can boast as storied a history as Petrie Terrace icon The Caxton Hotel. For 150 years, the venue has stood proudly on Caxton Street – feeding and watering countless punters and remaining a popular nightlife hub for revellers. Over the years The Caxton Hotel has boasted a multi-faceted array of amenities, from numerous bars and two distinct eateries to a bottle shop and TAB facilities. Known to many as a dedicated ‘sportsperson’ hotel, The Caxton Hotel has been a go-to spot to catch televised fixtures and as a popular post-match destination for fans from all walks of life. The hotel’s main party hub The Cauldron Bar regularly hosts DJs and live bands for those looking to cut loose, while The Press Box is a top spot for people watching. The Terrace Bar caters to sit-down diners or cocktail-style functions, but it’s the char-grill menu that has most patrons salivating. Prime steaks, ribs, top seafood and culinary classics are available for feasting, while the Street Cafe Restaurant offers a more casual dining experience, plating up burgers, wraps, tacos and chicken parmies. The Caxton Hotel has also undergone some recent renovations, sprucing up popular nooks the Cauldron Bar, the char-grill restaurant and even the venue’s bathrooms.
