Botanical Bar & Kitchen

Following on from the arrival of Farrier and a host of upgrade to the QA Hotek’s heritage elements, Botanical Bar & Kitchen is the newest addition to the James Street destination since renovations began in 2015. Sandwiched between the iconic pub and the Sage Hotel, Botanical Bar & Kitchen is a step away from the traditional pub offering, moving towards a more refined and wholesome approach. The restaurant boasts a menu of dishes that are perfect for sharing, with a focus on plant-based protein over meat (don’t fret – the meat is still there, to be sure). Clean dishes such as golden beets, organic red quinoa, charred heirloom carrots and corn-fed chicken feature alongside light bites like house cured matcha smoked salmon, Barrowdale pork with caramelised apple and Flinders Range organic lamb belly. The bar specialises in champagne and small-batch gins (including local legends The Humpybong Distilling Company), with a range of tap beers and wines to complement.
