The sleepy suburb of North Lakes was given a jolt of lively energy when the hip hotspot BLVD Bar & Cafe (known to locals at The Bool) opened on Endeavour Boulevard in May 2016. Friends Pete and Jack created an instant hit with locals, creating a relaxed atmosphere and offering a welcome selection of food and drink that set the venue apart from other eateries in the area. BLVD Bar & Cafe boasts a small kitchen that works tirelessly to experiment and offer top-notch grub on a menu that is constantly shifting. The breakfast menu – titled Good Morning as an homage to Kanye West – offers a range of unique selections such as the potato and cheese hash, while the lunch and dinner portion (cheekily names Happy Endings) boats some scrumptious options to share. Eggplant chips, fried chicken tenders and a bread board with six seasonal dips are great for picking at, but those with a hunger are advised to try BLVD’s two signature burgers – The Bool (for beef eaters) and Why’d He Cross? (for fried chicken lovers). Tao beers from All Inn Brewing, a concise wine selection and a cocktail list is also on offer for those looking to kick back over a cold one or two. Also of note: BLVD Bar & Cafe is dog friendly – the venue even has an Instagram account cataloguing all of its furry visitors.
