Bloodhound Corner Bar and Kitchen
From the hand-drawn art in the toilets to the custom-made serviette holders on the tables, Bloodhound Corner Bar and Kitchen is all about attention to detail. The experienced team who brought you The Burrow has crafted this homely local, offering a more laidback alternative to the bars down the road. The 1882 heritage building has been a corner store, hairdresser, accountancy practice and Tibetan restaurant, and the current incarnation seeks to celebrate and honour the establishment’s past and charming character. Two of the ten rotating beer taps remain dedicated to local brews, while a wall of premium spirits and wine satisfies the non-beer-drinkers. Latin American fare is crafted by Peruvian chef Gabriel Escalante-Gafau, from bar snacks and share plates like chicken wings smothered in house chilli glaze to gluten-free, vegan tacos stuffed with Doña María cactus and topped with house-made pickled onion and pickled radish. As for entertainment, the gang at Bloodhound do live music and host killer DJs in their upstairs area.
