West End locals are already well acquainted with the fare at Bird’s Nest Yakitori, but Fortitude Valley foodies are now able to get to know the flavoursome menu intimately now that Bird’s Nest has opened a second location in the entertainment precinct. Owners Marie Yokoyama and Emi Kamada have secured a spot at 702 Ann Street, where the signature tastes and aromas of Japanese yakitori (skewered meats, for the uninitiated) are available with some unique twists. Chow down on grilled chicken tenderloins, pork belly with bocconcini, shitake mushrooms with ponzo vinegar and many more, then wash it down with upwards of 20 varieties of sake, Japanese craft beers, wine and cocktails.
