Ballistic Beer Co. Springfield Central

Ipswich-based fans of Salisbury craft-beer brewers Ballistic Beer Co. lost the plot when it was announced that the booming brew crew would open its third hospitality operation in their neck of the woods. Ballistic opened a new brewery, bar and kitchen in Springfield Central, bringing the total number of Ballistic spots to three after its Salisbury brewery and West End Ballistic Alehouse and Kitchen. The venue involved a substantial refitting the old Springfield Central Tavern, just a short stroll from USQ’s campus. The beverage barons have gone all in for the venture, establishing an 800-litre brewery inside the premises alongside a 350-seat venue that includes function spaces, a beer garden and a full bar pouring a mix of 18 beers, ranging from Ballistic’s own brews to other popular craft beers. The brewery utilises various brew methods and unique ingredients to concoct a few different styles of beer, including a beer brewed especially for local residents – the Springfield Pilsner. Described as a crisp and and clean European pilsner, this beverage is being brewed with mostly Australian ingredients and is available on tap and in cans for take-home consumption. The kitchen is also pumping out a delightful menu of beer food, ranging from beer-brined chicken wings, Ballistic beer-infused sausage balls and steamed dumplings to petite tender steaks, Ballistic beer-battered cod, pizzas and burgers.
