ASA is the bright and cheerful sibling of Yeronga brunch institution M.Y. Roasting Cafe. This cosy cafe, shaped and envisioned in collaboration with Clui Design, boasts a crisp and contemporary interior boasting a curved coffee and service counter, a small array of interior seats, plus plenty of tables outside. The centrepiece of ASA’s menu is its bagel selection, which sees delightfully doughy sesame, wholemeal rye, plain and blueberry bagels from NYC Bagel Deli topped with spreads or stuffed to become sandwiches. Smoked salmon with cream cheese, chicken club bagels and vegan-friendly bagels are perfect grab-and-go lunch options. A dumpling menu features three kinds of varieties steamed to order in serves of six or ten, including pork, chilli chicken and vegetable options. On the flip-side of the menu, ASA’s beverage selection is headlined by a range of bubble teas, with a number of recipes (crafted by the team at superstar West End boba joint HiHi Dessert & Drinks) ranging from fruity sips like the passionfruit green tea to milky options such as taro milk tea. All bubble teas can be further customised with toppings like aloe vera, lychee popping balls and cheese milk foam. Bear Bones Coffee is supplying the cafe with its medium-bodied One Eighty blend, while make-your-own juices and fruit-loaded smoothies offer a refreshing alternative for non-coffee drinkers.
