Archives Fine Books

Inside the old brick facade, Archives Fine Books is filled floor to ceiling, wall-to-wall with a maze of books, thumbed and adored, each with a past owner. The long narrow halls of towering shelving are brimming with old literature organised by subject. The smell of antique books lingers – instantly recognisable, this musky smell brings back nostalgic memories of rummaging through nanna’s bookshelves. The old building is replete with creaky floorboards, quiet nooks and crannies and old wooden stepladders to help get to hard-to-reach books. Bookworms will find early editions, elegant hardbacks, books with the scribblings and personal messages from their original owners, books hundreds of years old, faded spines, rare, unusual and forgotten books.
