Ando’s on Bardon

The quiet suburb of Bardon in Brisbane’s west is known for it’s leafy streets and laid back nature, yet if you were to assume that meant that there were no casual dining spots in the area you would be incorrect. Mike ‘Ando’ Anderson took a break from a 20-year career as a lawyer to open Ando’s on Bardon, a low key but appealing restaurant inside the Bardon Bowls Club. Ando has overhauled the menu and added some character to the formerly stale site, which now boasts a menu chock-full of meals that are perfect for an intimate dinner or a family feast. Patrons can expect more than simple pub-style fare, with rumps and rib fillets sharing menu space with quail, scallops, crispy duck rolls and Ando’s signature “Shot Bowl” Standing Fish – which is a sight to behold in itself. Ando’s on Bardon hosts regular trivia nights on Wednesdays and Sunday sessions on the green with live music and food specials. If you are looking for a new place to enjoy some suburban casual dining, you’ve just found it.
