Elizabeth Street’s pan-Asian food precinct FudoDori added a dessert depot to its midst in August 2019, following on from the initial openings of LUCHA Kitchen + Bar,  Koto Sanpo and Japanese barbecue spot Yakiniku Hachi. Hole-in-the-wall creperie Amai Kawaii specialises in loaded crepes – both sweet and savoury – as well as towering parfaits and a range of colourful kakigōri (Japanese shaved-ice desserts). Crepe fillings include peaches and cream, Nutella, chocolate and banana, strawberry compote and cream cheese, teriyaki chicken and mayo, and tuna and wasabi mayo. The jaw-dropping parfaits come with the likes of caramel pearls, chocolate almonds, mango and more, while the kakigōri boasts curiously named options like the Pine Delmonte Deluxe, Coffee Jelly Tiramisu, Tokyo Anmitsu and Strawberry Daifuku Royale.
