5 Boroughs
5 Boroughs takes its inspiration, as its name might suggest, from the streets of New York City, plating up a full suite of ‘American’ eats. Lovers of classic American-style food will certainly not be disappointed – you’ll find a full range of burgers (eight in fact) and sides of rustic chips, haystack onion strings and house-made minted slaw. You’ll also find moreish pork baby-back ribs in true American style, and if you can’t decide between the two you can opt for a combo of pork riblets and two sliders. But on the other end of the spectrum, 5 Boroughs celebrates America’s adopted cuisines as well. Drinking food includes tasty morsels such as chicken karaage wings, duck and plum gyoza or beef empanadas. Munch on bigger bites such as fish or chicken tacos, steamed bao buns with pulled pork or flat-grilled chicken, and house-made panko fish fingers, or hoe in to pressed sandwiches including the Reuben on rye, Cuban and pulled pork and slaw. Behind the bar you’ll find Brookyln Lager on tap, alongside local brews from Stone & Wood, Yenda and James Squire. Classic New York-style cocktails are also on offer, as well as a back bar with strong focus on bourbon and spiced rum. And if a non-alcoholic is more your style, opt for a bottomless cup of the ice tea flavour of the day.
