5 Boroughs Balmoral

Since 2015, Todd and Marisa Clayton have been giving Brisbane locals a taste of America with their popular 5 Boroughs eateries. The New York City-inspired chain is added another location to its portfolio in 2018, opening another grungy eatery on Riding Road in Balmoral. Like its sibling locations in Stones Corner and Ascot, 5 Boroughs Balmoral showcases the best eats inspired by the Big Apple’s culinary scene – itself a melting pot of influences and tastes. Patrons can start by snacking on a selection of street-food favourites, including beef empanadas, Brooklyn brine pickles, criss-cross chips, mac’n’cheese croquettes and tacos, before steeling themselves for the main event. 5 Boroughs plates up a massive selection of traditional and signature burgers, with cheeseburgers and panko-crumbed fried chicken burgers sharing menu space with smoked beef brisket burgers and fried mac’n’cheese stacks. If you’re a barbecue fan, you’re amply catered for with racks of pork baby-back ribs, while the rest of the menu features reuben sandwiches, chicken BLTs, chicken and waffles, and salads. The bar is loaded with tap and bottled beers, a curated wine list, thick shakes, iced tea, classic New York-inspired cocktails and spirits in the back bar. Patrons can devour their feast dine-in, takeaway or have it ordered via UberEATS and Deliveroo.
