The Pop-Up Hotel Competition: Win a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Death Valley Fun Camp Terms & Conditions

  1. This competition is a promotion run by The Weekend Edition Pty Ltd ABN 98 088 035 045  (“Co-Promoter”) whose office is at 41 Victoria Street, Windsor, Brisbane, QLD 4030 and Death Valley Fun Camp acting through Southside Tea Room (“Co-promoter”) whose principal office is at 639 Wynnum Rd, Morningside QLD 4170.
  2. Entries and information on prizes and how to enter form part of these terms and conditions (“Terms”). Entries not completed in accordance with these Terms are ineligible.
  3. Participation in this competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms.
  4. The Prize: There is one (1) prize only in this competition. The prize is for midday on Saturday May 26 to midday Sunday May 27, 2018. The prize includes the following:
    • Your own concierge
    • Overnight stay at The Pop-Up Hotel
    • 2 x all-inclusive tickets to Death Valley Fun Camp plus drink pass and camp mug valued at $536
    TOTAL VALUE: $536 inclusive gst plus money-can’t-buy The Pop-Up Hotel experience.
  5. How to enter:  Entrants must:
    • complete the online entry form at http://theweekendedition.com.au/popuphotel/win/ and provide all details as stipulated;
    • enter only once. All other multiple entries will be deemed null and void and removed from the competition.
  6. Prize conditions:
    • The winner/s must agree to use social media tools (Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter) to share photos of their prize experience;
    • The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash and is valid only for the period stipulated in Section 4;
    • Alcohol cannot be brought into Death Valley Fun Camp. Any alcohol will be confiscated and will not be returned and you will be evicted from The Pop-Up Hotel;
    • Animals are prohibited;
    • The winner and guests consent to any official filming and sound recording of the weekend prize experience and give the Co-promoters permission to use such film and/or recording in any promotional material. The Co-promoters will notify the winner of any use of such film and/or recording.;
    • The Co-promoters reserve the right to refuse the winner or their guests admission to the hotel or other locations or to evict that person if they are affected by alcohol or drugs, or act in contravention of any of these Terms;
    • The Winner or their guests must not cause damage to, improperly use or tamper with any public or private facility or infrastructure, or cause any damage to flora and fauna on or surrounding the venues. Nor must they remove or attempt to remove any item or object from the venues or surrounding areas;
    • The Winner or their guests will be removed from the site if they behave in a threatening or inappropriate manner (aggressive, riotous, abusive, or insulting actions) towards other patrons or staff.
  7. Eligibility: To be eligible to enter this competition, a person must:
    a) fully and legibly complete all the details on the official online entry form;
    b) not be an employee or contracted staff of the prize providers;
    c) not be an employee or contracted staff of Southside Tea Room or The Weekend Edition;
    d) be over the age of 18 and have a valid Queensland address;
  8. Competition Period: The competition commences at 4:00 pm on Wednesday April 18, 2018 and closes midnight on Thursday May 10, 2018.
  9. Competition Draw: The winner will be randomly drawn at 12:00 pm on Friday May 11, 2018 at The Weekend Edition Office, 41 Victoria Street, Windsor 4030. The winner of the prize will be the first eligible entry randomly drawn. The decision of that officer shall be conclusive and no correspondence will be entered into.
  10. Winner Notification: The Winner will be notified via the phone number and email they provided when entering the competition, on Friday May 11, 2018.
  11. Re-Draw: If the Winner is unable to be contacted within 24 hours of the draw, a redraw will occur. In the event that a redraw is required it will be held at 1:00 pm Monday May 14, 2018 at The Weekend Edition Office, 41 Victoria Street, Windsor 4030. The redraw winner will be notified by the phone email provided when entering the competition. The Co-promoters will redraw the prize winner until a contactable winner/s has been located and the prize/s is claimed.
  12. No Liability of Co-promoters: The Co-promoters accept no responsibility whatsoever for late, misplaced, lost or ineligible entries. The Co-promoters make no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability of the prizes. To the extent permitted by law, the Co-promoter is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury sustained in connection with the entry into the competition or acceptance of the prize. This paragraph is not intended to exclude any liability which cannot be excluded under Australian consumer protection laws. Any such liability is limited to the resupply of the prize.
  13. Important –Privacy:  Entrants to the competition agree that:
    • the winner and guests may be photographed, filmed and recorded and such images, film and sound recordings may be used in any media by the Co-promoters for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes;
    • they consent to the use of their contact details for the purposes described in this clause. The Co-promoters may also disclose the entrants personal information if authorised or required to do so by law (for example, where we are required to disclose your personal information to a court in response to a subpoena). We will not disclose your personal information for any other purpose without your consent.
  14. Force Majeure: If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned (including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Co-promoters), which corrupts or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Co-promoters reserve the right, in its sole discretion, to take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition. The Co-promoters reserve the right in its sole discretion to disqualify all entries from any individual who tampers with, or benefits from tampering with, the entry process which as a result corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the competition.
  15. In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders it’s determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Co-promoters may in their absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions.
  16. The Co-promoters reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time and to cancel or amend the competition at any time without notice or further recourse to the entrants.
