With a focus on local and free-range produce, The Wine Barrel, a family-owned and operated hidden gem, brings exceptional food and wine to the quaint Mudgeeraba village. The suburb’s history as an original logging town inspired the rustic decor, with recycled-timber materials including old railway sleepers, 25-year-old oak wine barrels and an entire wall of logs creating a truly warm and welcoming space. Owner and head chef Warren Carnall creates an amazing share-food spread with 14-hour braised lamb shank ravioli, nori-wrapped scallops with wasabi mash, tempura soft-shell crab with paprika salt and organic black mussels with chorizo as some of the local favourites. So much goodness in one place.
