Friends, the time has come. No longer will you have to run around the streets, festivals and events across the Gold Coast and Brisbane to get some of The Wiener Haus goodness in and around your mouth. Owner Paddy Sicko has (literally) dropped a shipping container out the front of Stocklands Shopping Centre in West Burleigh to create the very first Wiener Haus diner. All the originals hotdogs remain on the menu, but the offering has expanded with new dog toppings including the Yorker, with sliced cheese, pastrami, pickle, relish and sauerkraut, and the Monika Lewinsky with American-style runny nacho cheese and crumbed bacon jerky. There’s also new sides like salted crinkle-cut chips served plain or drowning in nacho cheese, bubblegum milkshakes, soda water on tap splashed with flavourings like Granny Smith and ginger, Pink Lady and raspberry, and lemon myrtle.
