The Lake Brewhouse is a new microbrewery and restaurant occupying the main corner site on the waterfront in Varsity Lakes. The new brewhouse concept is the brainchild of Canadian natives James and Julia Lee, who jumped on the vacant space to create The Lake Brewhouse after relocating to the Gold Coast from Ontario. With a 30-year background in the restaurant industry, James has transformed the space into an in-house microbrewery and restaurant, with an extensive menu filled with American-style cuisine with a hint of modern flair. Come lunch and dinner time, the menu steps up a notch, showcasing a refined take on North American fare with the likes of poutine, southern fried squid, jalapeno poppers, three-cheese croquettes and Nashville fried chicken wings. If you’re not into sharing, then wrap your mitts around a Brewhouse Burger, with Montreal smoked thick bacon, a wagyu beef patty, cheese, fried onion rings and aioli – this one, friends, is all-time.
