The Jolly Roger
Tucked in the backstreets of Miami, in the same complex that houses Hide N Seek Espresso, Little Itoshin and That’s Amore, lies a new fish and chippery by the name of The Jolly Roger. Step aboard and not only will be you be greeted with a hearty ‘ahoy’ from owners Isa and Emily, you’ll also some of the freshest seafood going around – it arrives from local trawlers and fisherman every two days. Everything is filleted on site and crumbed, battered and grilled fresh to order. Quality reigns supreme here, with all of the sauces – from the tartare to the ketchup and chillis – all made on site. The fish offerings will rotate often, served alongside delicious staples like giant local king prawns, fresh oysters, housemade potato scallops, chunky chips, punchy Thai fish cakes and more. Those that follow a ketogenic diet are in luck – this is where you’ll find keto fish and chips! The delicious almond-based batter is made on site, coating prawns and fish, sided with zucchini chips! Vegan folk can also get stuck into flavour-packed ‘tofish’. It doesn’t stop at fish and chips – The Jolly Roger also works with local butcher The Cow Shed to bring in mouth-watering patties for a range of towering burgers. The best part? There’s ice-cold local beers on tap (served in a pirate mug). Arggh!
