The Cavill Hotel
Paying homage to the glitter strip and its founder, Jim Cavill, The Cavill Hotel has officially opened its doors. From nightclub to gastropub, the new venue occupies the iconic corner site that once housed Melbas on the Park and features a fresh new aesthetic with timber accents and pops of greenery throughout. The restaurant is dishing up classic pub fare alongside seafood, share plates, pizzas, burgers and salads. Whether you’ve got a hankering for a succulent steak medium-to-well or something a little more exotic like ponzu oysters with pickled ginger and sesame followed by Bangkok-street chicken atop a bed of Asian salad, you’ll find it here. The drinks list is equally as extensive and features no less than 16 different cocktails that walk the line between classic and contemporary. Get a good dose of nostalgia with a Long Island iced-tea in a pot or, if you can handle a little heat, The Cavill’s coconut-spicy margarita is inspired by the blistering barefoot run across the sand on a summer’s day. There’s also a brand-new sports bar and gaming lounge to compete for your attention.
