The Avenue

After 32 years, iconic Surfers Paradise watering hole, The Avenue, has relocated 150-metres across the road to classy new double-storey digs. The impressive new $3-million space is virtually unrecognisable with a sleek new recycled timber fit-out, a new foodie focus and top-shelf tipple. Designed as two entirely separate venues, the restaurant is completely removed from the nightclub so you don’t end up shouting at the person across from you and there is still live music every night of the week. The varied new menu caters to the full spectrum of appetites with small bites of prawn skewers fresh off the charcoal barbecue through to whole lamb shoulders that comfortably serves two or more and crispy Asian pork belly with apple slaw. The drinks offers 15 craft beers on tap and a wine list that sprawls across multiple pages including one reserved for its premium Penfolds selection. The best part? The pizza menu is available until 2:00 am so if you find yourself with a hankering for a late-night feed, there’s no need to resort to a kebab.
