Soho Place

Nestled along the Gold Coast Highway in Broadbeach is a bright red door in the shape of a London telephone box. There’s no sign, but push open the handle and step inside to discover the coast’s first speakeasy-style bar – Soho Place. Here’s the catch – you can actually BYO food if you so desire. The intriguing space is one of the first on the Gold Coast to operate legally with no food service and no kitchen. Cocktails are the core here – but there aren’t any of your usual run-of-the-mill concoctions. You won’t find any ‘basic’ spirits here either, rather the bar will be pouring a selection of Australian-made spirits like Brookie’s and Four Pillars gins, Limeburners whisky and organic Small Mouth Vodka. Soho Place puts a unique spin the small-bar vibe – it’s perfect to enjoy a few pre- or post-dinner cocktails to the toe-tapping tunes of 1920s-style electro swing.
