Saké Sisters is a modern Japanese restaurant and the jewel in the Cali Beach crown. Helmed by executive chef Marcelino Papio Jr. (affectionately known as JoJo) who has worked at some of the world’s best dining institutions including Nobu Sydney, Toko Restaurant in Surry Hills and Zuma Japanese Restaurant in Dubai, Saké Sisters delivers a modern menu that meanders from light bites such as freshly made sushi and melt-in-your-mouth sashimi through to more substantial plates including chef Marcelino’s own personal favourite free-range spatchcock slathered in a signature seven spiced marinade. Other notable inclusions are Kingfish collar with grilled pineapple soaked in sake sauce and teriyaki sauce and a high-grade wagyu striploin served with pickled red radish, miso butter and chilli miso. The Japanese flavour that underpins the food menu has also filtered through to Saké Sisters’ speciality sips, which features a wide range of saké, umeshu, Japanese whisky, yuzu and togarashi.
