Rush Hour Chicken

If you (like us) have a major weakness when it comes to delightfully crispy fried chicken, beautiful burgers and decadent milkshakes, make haste to Rush Hour Chicken in Nerang. The old-school diner features good ol’ fashioned Southern-fried flavour with secret in-house recipes that are guaranteed to make your mouth water. The cook behind the operation is Joseph Koya, who has been frying and trying various recipes for over 30 years, so you know it’s got the goods. You’ve probably guessed by now but fried chicken is unapologetically the hero here with wings, boneless tenders, nuggets, chicken pieces and bite-sized pieces of popcorn chicken all gracing the menu alongside snackable sides such as mac ‘n’ cheese and hot chips. As for the burgers, it’s short and simple with three different varietals to choose from – the classic chicken, the mac ‘n’ cheese, or, the pièce de résistance, hot and spicy burger – which is fiery with just a hint of something sweet, a nod to Joseph’s incredible knowledge of flavour. Thirsty? Wash it down with one of the venue’s famous shakes available in traditional strawberry, chocolate or vanilla, or go all out with the bubble-gum flavoured Fairy Godshake topped with wafers, fairy floss and sprinkles. You may as well, you’ve already committed to the cheat day.
