Nobbys Shack
When the long-standing smoothie slinger The Shack Superfood Cafe closed, eyebrows were raised. Thankfully, the venue’s owners Lynda and Adolfo Pimentel were already hard at work creating Nobbys Shack – a new and improved version 2.0 just a hop, skip and a jump from its original home. Nobbys Shack has completely transformed the former Mount Lebanon Continental Deli into a deceptively spacious eatery and juice bar. From the roadside, it looks like an ordinary cafe, those who venture through, however, are rewarded with an expansive open-air deck area lined with tables as well as a kid’s play area. It’s the perfect place to bring the fam, soak in some sunshine and enjoy a fresh juice or coffee and a bite. The menu is imbued with culinary influences from around the world, with dishes including Thai-style eggs with lemongrass chicken and its own version of an okonomiyaki pancake. While some cafes have a handful of juices on the menu, Nobbys Shack has an entire page dedicated to immune-boosting juices and bowls that are loaded with superfoods such as acerola, which they import from Brazil, because it contains 30 times more vitamin C than oranges.
