MC’s Sandwich House

MC’s Sandwich House is a refreshingly simple concept – a neighbourhood noshery that specialises in three things – sandwiches, coffee, and sodas. While some eateries boast a menu that meanders multiple pages and spans several continents, MC’s Sandwich House offers a succinct selection that is underpinned by a philosophy of ‘it’s good sandwiches’. Breakfast bites, which are available from 6:30 am until sold out, consist of two options – housemade sausage, scrambled egg and American cheese with a swathe of dijon on an English muffin, or go sans sausage for something a little lighter. From 9:00 am, the sandwich selection increases to five, including a curious kimchi Reuben to a Canadian classic rare roast beef that is slathered with housemade horseradish mayo and served with a cup of jus for dunking and slurping. Those who cannot resist a burger will love the jalapeno-brined fried chicken that offers a hint of heat, while plant-based pals can wrap their mitts around a chickpea salad hoagie or a panko-crumbed mushroom poh boy. There are no substitutions or extras, each sandwich is designed to taste exactly as it tastes each time you taste it. Oh, and they’re all only available until sold out, so you may want to get there early. Thirsty? MC’s features Coffee Supreme alongside a rotating selection of StrangeLove’s lo-cal sodas that range from a citrus-bomb of yuzu to a fiery lime and jalapeno-infused spicy sip.
