Made with Love Bakery is slinging primo plant-based pastries and pies from Alicia Street in Southport. The baked goods cabinet is lined with vegan sweet and savoury delights that will have your mouth watering on site. You’ll find quiches, salad rolls, pizzas and ham-and-cheese croissants. The pies are undoubtedly the most popular product so far, with the potato pie and the pepper pie proving to be crowd favourites. On the sweet side, the cinnamon scroll is a surefire quick-seller, as well as the custard tarts, vanilla slices and jam-filled doughnuts. Instead of dairy, plant milks like oat and soy, alongside coconut cream and vegan butter are used in the baking process. Everything is made from scratch including the pastry folds, ‘sausage’ roll filling and the Nutella-esque spread in the filled doughnuts. Bakery-goers can pair their pastry of choice with a Merlo brew, which you can have with your choice of plant-based milk like oat, almond, soy, macadamia and coconut (there’s no dairy here, folks!).
