Filled from the eclectic collections of local artist Antoinette Edmunds, Madam Tojo’s is a quirky world with design elements reminiscent of the Mad Hatter’s tea party, a bohemian market and Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium. Suitcases destined for exotic locations are piled high, books stacked in rotation stepping to the ceiling, half-naked mannequins, sparkling chandeliers, an old piano and walls covered in the works of emerging artists. Live music on Friday nights fills this magical place with atmosphere. Madam Tojo’s menu sources products from local Australian farmers – herbs are from local farms or picked from Madam’s garden, the bacon is from Pilton Valley where happy pigs live and bask in the sun, chorizo and chipolatas are from a speciality Spanish butcher in Sydney, the chicken is from Tweed and the smoked salmon is from Australia’s southern waters. The rest is made in-house!
