There’s a revolution underway that favours fashion made with love rather than animal products and Lovechild Place in Mermaid Beach is at the forefront. The local label is killing it (metaphorically, of course) among vegan crowds for its exceptional range of cruelty-free fashion from local designers alongside international labels such as Miilk Swimwear, In The Soulshine, Grace Bijoux and Hanami, to name a few. The bricks-and-mortar space is an extension of the brand’s popular online store and is designed to show people that cruelty-free doesn’t have to come at the expense of style with a range of mainstream brands now catering to the vegan market including leather-free Dr. Martens, Lack of Color hats and Dr Denim jeans. The eclectic collection is personally curated by the label’s founder Abbey Jones who is passionate about fashion and animal rights. Keep an ethically-conscious eye out as Abbey also hosts a vegan market on the first and third Sunday of the month in the neighbouring laneway.
