Latitude 28 Restaurant and Bar
Housed in the former Toscanis in Cavill Avenue, Latitude 28 Restaurant and Bar is like a breath of fresh air with a bright, white aesthetic that boats a kind of Hamptons-esque vibe with light timber tables and nautical accents such as rope pendant lights. The venue’s moreish modern Australian menu includes options for breakfast, lunch, dinner as well as some tapas plates that pair well with cocktails. Morning eaters can stop by for some Moroccan honeycomb pancakes, which are smothered in butter and honey and topped with your choice of berry mascarpone, grilled banana or crispy maple bacon and a freshly squeezed juice or Belaroma coffee. From 11:30 am, the lunch menu takes over and offers a selection of gourmet sandwiches, fresh salads and mains. The fare, like the fit-out, is designed to be simple, fresh and clean. The wild-caught barramundi, for example, isn’t loaded with sauces or fancy fillings, rather, it is roasted and served with finger lime butter. When it comes to the drinks, however, it’s the more the merrier with an extraordinary selection of liquor ranging from shared carafes of Sex on the Beach to frozen concoctions and four kinds of iced teas.
