Humble
Nestled in Nesbit Street in Southport is the suburb’s newest light-filled cafe, Humble. The mouth-watering menu is something to behold, with beloved brunch-style dishes given an Asian twist. There’s the panko soft-shell crab Benedict, made using deep-fried panko soft-shell crab, smashed avocado, poached eggs, paprika, chilli holandaise, slaw and brioche toast, while the stir-fried garlic mushroom is made using garlic-thyme portobello, feta, squid-ink mushroom ketchup, Brussel sprout, Italian bread crumbs and sourdough toast. Those after something sweet can try the venue’s croffles, which come in flavours like cinnamon apple, peanut butter and choco brownie. The drinks are equally as creative and decadent, with the hero being the Water Lillies (named after Monet’s famous painting), a concoction of purple sweet potato and taro crushed ice, vanilla, full-cream milk, matcha and butterfly-pea-infused tea. A grab-and-go cabinet is filled with sandwiches, fruit cups and other snacks for those on the run, while Allpress Espresso runs through the La Marzocco machine.
